KSJD is public radio serving based in Cortez, Colorado and serving the Four Corners Region. 

We are proud to operate in a community radio model, meaning volunteer leadership powers much of the programming and operations of the station.

KSJD is licensed to Community Radio Project a 501-C3 non-profit corporation based in Cortez.

It is the mission of Community Radio Project to promote and sustain non-commercial, community based broadcasting that supports the inclusive voice, education and interests of our diverse rural audience in Montezuma County and the Four Corners Region.

KSJD's Financial support comes from membership contributions from listeners, underwriting from the business community, and foundation grants.

Solar Powered Community Radio

KSJD's operations incorporate a 1.75 kW solar generation unit-located at Empire Electric Cooperative-to offset electric usage.

KSJD will soon have the capacity to report in real time the energy being produced and the cost savings generated, and to broadcast these updates throughout the day to bring more attention to how Solar power is helping KSJD.

We hope to use this capacity to educate and market the "Empire Electric Solar Garden" to other residents living in the Coop service area.
