Meet the Board

Tom Yoder | Chair
Tom Yoder I have been a music lover as long as I can remember, and a volunteer DJ at KSJD since 2004. I host Boplicity on Sundays evenings as Cannonball, jazz purveyor to Montezuma County. I am a Colorado native, raised in Steamboat Springs, and couldn't imagine life anywhere but in Mancos with my lovely wife and two young sons. In my professional life I work as an archaeologist with SWCA Environmental Consultants.

Tom Rice | Treasurer
As a resident of rural Four Corners' communities for over 20 years I am keenly aware of how community radio supports the arts, culture, politics, economy and lifeblood of a small town. KSJD is as diverse as the topography and people that have lived in our broadcast area for centuries.

I joined the KSJD board of directors in 2004 because of my interest and experience with public radio in other communities I have lived in.  Our family lives north of  Cortez in the heart of Montezuma County.  When  not involved in KSJD issues I am the director of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe's Environmental Department or on the slopes, rivers, deserts, canyons and mountains of the Four Corners.

Rosie Carter | Director
Rosie Carter I first really understood the ability radio has to integrate itself into a community when I heard a radio story about how WSM Radio used to broadcast the passing of the Pan American Train each day at 5:08pm - and that people set their watches by it. Currently I set my watch by the opening sounds of the Rufus & Roda Road Show every Saturday morning. In addition to my position on the KSJD board, my husband and I raise organic produce on our farm in Arriola, Colorado. I also host Mermaid Lounge, an independent music and culture joint, on Wednesday evenings.

Laird Carlson | Director

Sara Kimball | Director

Tracy Murphy | Fundraising Committee Chair
I have lived in Dolores since 2001, having moved here from Flagstaff AZ to take a position as Assistant Curator at the Anasazi Heritage Center. Besides my involvement with the KSJD Board I also co-host a show on KSJD- Tuesday Nite Ride. Tune in Tuesdays from 8 - 10 pm!
