KSJD American Graduate Initiative
KSJD is part of American Graduate: Let's Make It Happen, a public media initiative made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Click HERE to find out more about public media's nationwide effort to help communities focus on graduation.
KSJD and its partner organziations, OMNI Institute and School Community Youth Coalition are working to change perceptions about education in our community so that we can work together to address the dropout issue in Southwest Colorado.
Through recent surveys, we know 99 percent of respondents in Montezuma and Dolores Counties said they valued education, but only 75 percent believe their neighbor cares as much as they do.
We want to know, what would happen if we all acted like we all knew we all valued education? What would change? How would we address problems, such as the high dropout rate?
Look and listen for the "I Value Education" posters, radio spots and meetings in our community. Together we can make a difference.

KSJD is also involved in the national Teacher Wall project, where teachers can express their perspective on education, academic success, and how communities can engage with students and schools. Here is one of the videos we have produced so far; the rest can be viewed on KSJD's YouTube Channel by clicking HERE .
