Friday, December 30th

The Mancos VFW has been working towards the preservation of the Mancos Opera House while offering the facility for a variety of community events. Join us for the Friday morning Zine at 8:30 as we talk about how the VFW manages this important historic building and what this asset means to local veterans groups.

Saturday, December 31st

Tune in to KSJD at 1pm on Saturday afternoon for a special New Year's edition of Mountain Stage and musical performances recorded at the 2011 Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, Scotland. Guests include Mavis Staples, Dougie MacLean, Mollie O'Brien & Rich Moore, and Joy Kills Sorrow.

Sunday, January 1st

Join in a New Year journey on Sundries at 9am on Sunday morning for New Years: A Reflection with host Hal Cannon as he explores an ancient Gaelic ritual of bringing in the year with a fiddler, looks for the original "Auld Lang Syne", delves into the Native American way of marking time with a heartfelt story from a Lakota elder, and hears about the hope for a healthy land from the Grand Canyon.

Tuesday, January 3rd

Hawkins Pueblo is a prehistoric Ancestral Puebloan site within the city limits of Cortez that poses unique challenges for its preservation and accessability to the public. Tune in to the Tuesday morning Zine at 8:30 as we discuss how these issues are being addressed and what the public can do to help.

Wednesday, January 4th

A movement to form a new local charter school focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art is gathering momentum. Join us for the Wednesday morning Zine at 8:30 as we talk about what this new school would offer to Montezuma County students and their parents.

Thursday, January 5th

The City of Cortez has been awarded a Orton Family Foundation Heart and Soul Community Planning Grant that is focused on community involvement in creating a positive vision for the city. Join us for the Thursday morning Zine as we look at what the grant means for the community and how it could shape the way Cortez moves into the future.
