Stephen Smith came to Cortez in 1888 at the age of 23 and when he first arrived he was employed by the investors who developed Cortez and the water diversion from the Dolores River. Tune in to the Monday morning Zine at 8:30 as we discuss how the business letters Smith wrote between 1891 and 1896 provide a unique look at the birth of business in Cortez.
