416 Fire Reaches 2900 Acres Tuesday; Firefighters Continue to Protect Homes, Structures

416 Fire Facebook Page

The 416 Fire in the Hermosa area north of Durango has grown to more than 2900 acres. The Rocky Mountain Blue Incident Team reports containment remains at about 10 percent as firefighters work to protect homes and other structures and keep the blaze from jumping to the east side of Highway 550. Hot, dry, windy conditions are expected to exacerbate the difficulty of firefighting until late in the week.
