National Park Service Will Analyze Public Comments on Proposed Fee Increase

Grand Canyon National Park
Grand Canyon National Park is one of 17 parks that would see entrance fees increase to $70 under the Park Service's proposal.

The National Park Service expects to finish its analysis of public comments on a proposed fee hike by the end of February, as reported in the Salt Lake Tribune. The agency has proposed raising entrance fees for passenger vehicles to $70 at 17 of the most popular parks. The hike is to raise revenues for backlogged maintenance projects, but critics question whether it would truly increase funds or just cause fewer people to visit the locations.
