Montezuma County Dispatch has issued a voluntary pre-evacuation notice, effective immediately, for those south of the expanding Plateau Fire.
Residents of Roads W and V.6 on Granath Mesa may receive visits from local emergency officials notifying them of the evacuation.
Dolores/Norwood Road (also known by Forest Service Road 526 and County Road 31) is closed to public traffic from its intersection at House Creek Road through Cottonwood Road. Local detours are in effect.

Further northwest, the West Guard Fire has seen minor growth recently. It remains at 1,424 acres and 90 percent containment.
