Montezuma County’s aging dispatch center will need $600,000 to $750,000 worth of new equipment in the near future. That was the message delivered to the county commissioners Monday by Cortez Police Chief Roy Lane.

During his tenure as Montezuma County Commissioner, Keenan Ertel has supported conservative fiscal policy, oil and gas development, and transfer of federal public lands to the county. But outside of his public life, Mr. Ertel also practices yoga.

The Montezuma County commissioners have set two meetings to hear public input on a proposal to close one end of Road BB where it meets with Highway 491.
