Youth Leadership Council takes on local issues as part of the Youth Roots program

Local high school students involved in the Youth Leadership Council are tackling several issues as part of their Youth Roots program this spring, including youth mental health, cost of living, and substance abuse. KSJD's Tom Yoder talked with Amie Martinez, Kaylynn Quinonez, and Connor Parrish about why these topics are important to them, and how the community can support their project at a fundraiser on Friday, April 12th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Cortez Cultural Center featuring board games, karaoke, a bake sale, and silent auction. All proceeds from the event will benefit a local nonprofit organization that addresses youth mental health, cost of living, or substance abuse.
