Nordfest Returns: A Celebration of Music and Resilience

Erik Nordstrom, the driving force behind Nordfest, shares his gratitude for the community's support during his battle with advanced prostate cancer. Nordfest 2024, scheduled for June 22nd, will feature local bands performing at Mancos Brewing from 3-8 pm, with proceeds benefiting cancer support organizations. Emphasizing the event's celebratory spirit, Nordstrom invites attendees to join in honoring survival and remembering loved ones. The lineup includes Midnight Cowboy, Nathan Schmidt & the Kickers, Acid Wrench, Lawn Chair Kings, and Afrobeatniks, promising a lively festival atmosphere with dancing.

LP recently moved to Mancos from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving. In their time away from work, they watch a ton of movies (spanning all decades, nationalities, and genres), and tries to listen to one really good album every day.
