RISE Southwest's Suicide Awareness Walk Returns for Third Year

The RISE Southwest Suicide Awareness Walk, inspired by Derek Streeter’s personal journey, takes place Saturday, September 7th at 9 AM at Montezuma Park in Cortez.

Derek Streeter shares his personal journey and the inspiration behind starting a suicide prevention walk in Cortez. After losing his brother to suicide, Derek wanted to bring awareness to mental health issues within his community. Now in its third year, the walk has become a significant event, drawing hundreds of participants and providing crucial resources for those in need. Join us as we discuss the impact of suicide, the importance of community support, and the various resources available to those struggling with mental health issues.
