The Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying two armed robbers who reportedly entered a rural home early Tuesday morning and stole thousands of dollars in cash, marijuana, and more. According to a release, the masked intruders entered a home on County Road 39.4. One robber then held the occupants at gunpoint while the other ransacked the house, taking about $10,000 in cash, a Go Pro camera, a laptop, and two pounds of processed marijuana belonging to one of the four victims, a licensed medical-marijuana provider. At some point two rounds were fired from a handgun, but no one was injured. The suspects reportedly spoke both English and Spanish. One was about 6 feet tall, the other 5-10. They fled in a silver, newer-model, four-door Dodge 1500 pickup. Undersheriff Jim Kingery tells KSJD investigators are pursuing some good leads.

One lane of Highway 184 west of Mancos was closed much of the night Wednesday after a semi tractor-trailer jack-knifed about 4:15 p.m. Colorado State Patrol Capt. Adrian Driscoll explains the wrecker that came to move the semi then broke an axle. Another wrecker had to be called from Aztec, New Mexico, to remove both vehicles. Driscoll says the semi driver was cited for careless driving.
