The Dolores County commissioners have given the go-ahead to a much-scaled-down Ethereal Music Fest August 19th through 21st at the Lone Cone Mountain Resort.
The Dove Creek Press reports the board initially said no because there wasn’t time for the festival to obtain a special-use permit. Resort owner Jody Ellis said he anticipated up to 2,500 attendees coming to hear 60 bands and DJs, playing daily from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. The commissioners and others voiced concerns about traffic, fire, and water-quality impacts to Disappointment Creek. The board later decided to allow the event, but with only 275 participants and outside music limited to 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
