San Juan County, New Mexico, is already reeling from an extended downturn in the oil and gas industry brought on by low energy prices. Now, the Farmington Daily-Times reports that the largest natural-gas producer in New Mexico, ConocoPhillips, will be laying off more employees as part of reductions throughout its global work force. The Daily-Times says the company already cut 65 workers in the county last October and is set to decide the number of new reductions in a few weeks.
