Donald Trump Will Make a Stop In Grand Junction

Wikimedia Commons

Donald Trump is planning a visit to Colorado’s Western Slope.

The GOP presidential nominee is scheduled to hold a rally in Grand Junction on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the regional airport, according to published reports. He will campaign in Colorado Springs earlier the same day. Most polls show Trump trailing Hillary Clinton in Colorado by a substantial margin. The Denver Post reports that two of the state’s congressional Republicans, Senator Cory Gardner and Congressman Mike Coffman, have disassociated themselves from the embattled candidate. However, Republican Congressmen Scott Tipton, Ken Buck, and Doug Lamborn are reportedly still backing him. The Post says 19 of the 49 Republicans in the state legislature so far have signed a letter saying they “fully support” the nominee. The 19 include state Representative J. Paul Brown of Ignacio, but not Representative Don Coram of Montrose or Senator Ellen Roberts of Durango.
