Dolores County Commission and Colorado's 59th District see changes after 2016 elections.

In Dolores County, Commissioner Ernie Williams, a Democrat, lost his bid for a third term to Republican Steve Garchar, 70 to 30 percent. In the county’s other commission race, Republican Floyd Cook defeated Democrat Larry White and unaffiliated Ed Hobson. Voters passed two questions providing funding to the Dove Creek Ambulance District, and they approved a measure giving the county authority to pursue broadband. And in La Plata County, state Representative J. Paul Brown narrowly lost his 59th District re-election bid to Democrat Barbara McLachlan.?
