Utah Drivers Ranked Lowest In Country

Utah’s drivers are the worst in the nation.

That’s according to rankings issued Thursday by QuoteWizard, a website that compares car insurance. The study says Utahns are second-highest in both number of accidents and speeding incidents, and fourth-worst for minor citations. In addition, despite its reputation as a state of non-drinkers, Utah placed ninth for DUIs. QuoteWizard says its rankings are based on more than 2 million data points from its users extrapolated to federal fatality data and factoring in several markers of driving quality. On the bright side, the website says, Utah is not among the worst states for fatalities, “so at least fewer people are dying in all those accidents”. But Coloradoans shouldn’t feel too smug. The Centennial State ranked as eighth-worst in the union and No. 1 in traffic citations. Arizona was tenth-worst overall, New Mexico 24th. And the state with the best drivers? Rhode Island.
