Utah’s largest newspaper is cutting its newsroom staff by more than a third. On Monday, the Salt Lake Tribune, which won a Pulitzer Prize in 2017, announced the paper will eliminate 34 positions and reduce some print sections. The Tribune recently instituted a pay wall for its online offerings, but those revenues have not offset losses. The print edition remains the paper’s most profitable operation but is shrinking rapidly.
