Clark Adomaitis
ReporterClark Adomaitis is a Durango transplant from New York City. He is a recent graduate of the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, where he focused on reporting and producing for radio and podcasts. He reported sound-rich stories on the state of recycling and compost in NYC.
Before his graduate studies, he wrote lifestyle spreads for the City College of New York's Campus Magazine about local food and drink. In his free time, he produces experimental and humorous hip-hop music.
He’s excited to learn and share stories from underrepresented voices in the Four Corners region, including reports from the Ute tribe, the Navajo Nation, the LGBTQ+ community, and the Latinx community.

The Southern Ute Tribe hosted a series of Elder Storytelling events for Ignacio, Colorado community members. We heard creation stories and family memories from Miss Southern Ute Autumn Sage and elder Cassandra Atencio.

Klee Benally was a Navajo man and a passionate activist who spent his life championing numerous Indigenous and environmental causes around the Southwest. He combined activism with punk rock, writing, graphic design, and filmmaking. He even created a board game.

Delbert Anderson is rallying musicians from the Four Corners region and online to perform his compositions, where one note comes every few months. In Farmington, New Mexico, Anderson teaches community members about the historical impact of the Long Walk of the Navajo.

Lawrence Strike Tucker passed away at age 83 on Tuesday, October 17th. On Saturday, more than two hundred attending the annual Southern Ute Veteran’s powwow in Ignacio took some time to honor his memory.

Colorado released a review of historic Native American boarding schools in the state. The report brings together a wide range of information and provides a detailed picture of life at these schools in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Mesa Verde National Park established an Indigenous Ranger Internship last summer. The program hires young Native Americans as park rangers and tour guides. The National Park Service is trying to include more indigenous perspectives in its storytelling.

On Sunday, September 3, tribal members and other motorcyclists rode to the Southern Ute Cultural Center in Ignacio, CO. The ride was part of the five-day long Four Corners Motorcycle Rally in Durango.
