Authorities Investigate 100-Acre Fire Near Shiprock

A 100-acre fire near Shiprock, New Mexico, resulted in smoky air and an orange moon in Montezuma County on Sunday night. The Farmington Daily Times reports that no one was injured by the blaze, whose cause is unknown. Firefighters with the Navajo Nation Fire Department, Bureau of Indian Affairs Navajo Region Wildland Fire Management, BIA Ute Mountain Ute Agency, San Juan County Fire Department, and McKinley County Fire Department all reportedly helped contain and extinguish the fire.
