Chronic Wasting Disease Kills Rare Deer Beloved by Moab

When a rare black, melanistic deer nicknamed Coal by Moab locals was reported dead in a resident’s backyard in December, state wildlife officials wanted to investigate. 

KZMU’s Molly Marcello reports from Moab, where Coal’s death was determined to be caused by chronic wasting disease.
