Documentary Captures Hike Along U.S.-Mexico Border to Change Perception ‘From the Unknown’

May 10, 2019

In late 2017, two women set out to hike the nearly 2,000 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border. Facing warnings about safety from the pressure of border politics, Tenny Ostrem and Claire Wernstedt-Lynch wanted to see the area for themselves.

Director Corey Robinson documented their journey in “Hike the Line,” a documentary he says adds nuance to border discourse that's screening at the Sunflower Theatre Thursday.

KSJD’s Tom Yoder spoke with Robinson ahead of the screening for insight on the documentary’s production.

See “Hike the Line” at the Sunflower Theatre in downtown Cortez at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16. Visit for tickets and more information.
