La Plata County has lifted evacuation orders for residents of Falls Creek Ranch and High Meadows neighborhoods.

In order to access their homes, residents will have to present RapidTag credentials that can be obtained at the La Plata County fairgrounds. A checkpoint will be stationed at the north end of County Road 205 and will be the only entrance into the reopened subdivisions.

Though the lifted order ends the last of the evacuated zones, pre-evacuation remains for several areas in the wildfire’s path. A full list can be found on La Plata County’s website.

The 416 Fire has burned over 34,000 acres and is 35 percent contained after some relief from weekend rainfall.
