Montezuma County Dispatch rescinded a voluntary pre-evacuation notice for residents on roads W and V.6 on Granath Mesa, and the Dolores-Norwood Road reopened Monday.
The voluntary pre-evacuation notice was canceled at noon Sunday after rains and cooler temperatures helped firefighters increase containment over the weekend.
The Dolores-Norwood Road reopened as fire crews solidified the containment of the fire along the boundary. Motorists driving along the road are asked to be very cautious, as smoke and firefighters will be in the area. Boggy Draw and Overlook Trail also reopened, but remaining San Juan National Forest closures are still in effect.
As of Monday, the Plateau Fire was at 17,344 acres and containment was at 95 percent. Contact the Plateau Fire call center for more information at 970-564-4998 or 970-564-4999. Visit InciWeb for maps, photos and additional information.
To the northwest, the West Guard Fire was at 1,424 acres and 90 percent containment as of Friday afternoon.
