Judges in California have won back some power they lost when the state adopted its "Three Strikes" law mandating 25-years-to-life sentences on third-time felonies. But NPR's Renee Montagne reports that the recent ruling won't help three-strikes defendants much, since most judges aren't likely to overrule prosecutors eager to hand down the longest possible sentences.
