When Interstate 70 through Colorado’s Glenwood Canyon is closed, like it was last week due to mudslides, some drivers take Cottonwood Pass as a detour. The route is becoming a popular, although unofficial, travel alternative. But it’s a dangerous, narrow road and it’s taken the recent long-term canyon closure for county, state, and federal governments to pay attention. KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh has this report.
