Family threatens Telluride school board with legal action

School districts and the boards that oversee them have found themselves in the cultural-political spotlight lately. COVID regulations and mask mandates led to contested school board meetings, and elections. School districts have also become the battleground over race, LGBTQ issues, and mental health. 

Now, districts across the country are facing challenges from parents claiming they’ve broken laws and are liable for damages. Recently, the Telluride R-1 School District found itself in the conversation. For Rocky Mountain Community Radio, KOTO’s Julia Caulfield reports.
