1972. Shaquille O'Neal was born. Harry Truman died. NASA launched the space shuttle program.

And, in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado, the Telluride Ski Resort opened its lifts. This year, the ski area celebrates half a century of slipping, sliding, and riding. And the Telluride Historical Museum is devoting its annual exhibit to the milestone.

KOTO's Matt Hoisch spoke with Molly Daniel, Director of Programs and Exhibits for the museum, about the new exhibit, called The Long Run, which is open at the museum through the end of the 2022-2023 ski season.
