KSJD's Morning Edition Host, Lacy McKay, welcomes local poet and author Lisa C. Taylor. Lisa loves using her writing to explore deep thoughts and emotions, and she's written both short stories and poetry. She's passionate about helping others find their own creative voice, whether it's through teaching, workshops, or just chatting about books.

In this interview they'll cover National Poetry Month, the upcoming Mesa Verde Writers Conference in July, and her works as well.

You can find out more about the Mesa Verde Writers Conference by visiting their website, or by following them on facebook. This year's Conference is full, but organizers are maintaining a waiting list.

Lisa also encourages those who may be interested in having an ongoing place to join and learn from other local writers to attend their monthly Four Corners Writers Workshop on the third Wednesday of each month at the ZU Gallery in Cortez.

LP recently moved to Mancos from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving. In their time away from work, they watch a ton of movies (spanning all decades, nationalities, and genres), and tries to listen to one really good album every day.
