KSJD's Morning Edition Host, Lacy McKay, welcomes local poet and author Lisa C. Taylor. Lisa loves using her writing to explore deep thoughts and emotions, and she's written both short stories and poetry. She's passionate about helping others find their own creative voice, whether it's through teaching, workshops, or just chatting about books.

In this interview they'll cover National Poetry Month, the upcoming Mesa Verde Writers Conference in July, and her works as well.

You can find out more about the Mesa Verde Writers Conference by visiting their website, or by following them on facebook. This year's Conference is full, but organizers are maintaining a waiting list.

Lisa also encourages those who may be interested in having an ongoing place to join and learn from other local writers to attend their monthly Four Corners Writers Workshop on the third Wednesday of each month at the ZU Gallery in Cortez.

Lacy McKay is the News Director and Morning Edition Host at KSJD Community Radio in Cortez, Colorado. They bring years of experience in audio production and community-centered reporting, with a focus on rural issues, public lands, tribal affairs, and civic engagement in the Four Corners region. McKay has produced and edited news features, interviews, and podcasts for broadcast and digital platforms, and works closely with regional partners through Rocky Mountain Community Radio to amplify local voices and stories that might otherwise go unheard.
