Colorado Lawmakers Halt Bill to Accelerate Renewable Energy Transition

Colorado lawmakers have decided not to move forward with a bill to speed up the state's transition to renewable energy, which would have required investor-owned utilities like Xcel Energy to eliminate their climate impact by 2040, a decade earlier than currently required. Despite significant opposition, Speaker Julie McCluskie hopes the conversation about renewable energy continues.

Additionally, earlier this week, Diné citizens and water protectors marched to the Navajo Nation Council chambers in the “March to Protect Dinétah.” The march called on Navajo leaders to take stronger action to protect vital water resources from pollution and industrial misuse, raising concerns about the government's response to water protection issues.

LP recently moved to the Four Corners from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving.
