Singer-songwriter Tashi T is bringing a heartfelt blend of folk, country, and Americana to the Sunflower Theatre this Saturday (August 23rd), backed by a band that can only be described as a local supergroup.

“It’ll be a nice combination of listening-room intimacy and some fun dancing opportunities,” Tashi said. “I’m excited to bare my soul through my songs, but also share some swing and lighthearted moments.”

The one-night-only lineup features guitarist and mandolin player Zach Bassett, local favorite Mimi Genheimer on fiddle and vocals, Durango drummer Cruz, and bassist Steven Sellers—also known as DJ Bad Goat — of the Six Dollar String Band will round out the group. “It’s unlikely this exact group will play together again,” Tashi noted, “so it feels really special.”

The show also marks a farewell of sorts. After Saturday, Tashi will head west to Los Angeles for a season of recording and collaborations, with a European tour lined up this fall. “It’s kind of a last-minute thing that came together,” they said. “I’ll be playing pubs and clubs, opening for local musicians, and then diving into projects in LA.”

Tashi’s music can be found on streaming platforms, Bandcamp, and YouTube, and fans can follow their journey at tashitmusic.com or on Instagram at @tashi_t_music

The Sunflower Theatre show promises to be both an intimate sendoff and a celebration of the collaborative spirit that defines the Four Corners music scene.

LP recently moved to the Four Corners from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving. In their time away from work, they watch a ton of movies (spanning all decades, nationalities, and genres), and tries to listen to one really good album every day.
