On Saturday, Montezuma Pride will host the first LGBTQ Pride in Montezuma County. The all-day event includes a screening of “Two Spirits,” a happy hour, and wraps up with a drag show and dance party at the Sunflower Theatre.
Its organizers hope to create a space where LGBTQ people and their allies can celebrate and forward a discussion about safety and local resources.
Chance Comisky and Gina Lopez, two of Pride’s committee members, joined KSJD’s Daniel Rayzel to talk about organizing Saturday’s event and its significance for the county.
