Longtime KSJD DJ Billy Joe Moffat left a successful Wall Street career in the 1970s to become a co-owner of Dunton Hot Springs. Life in his cabin next door to a lithium-rich hot spring dubbed "Paradise" afforded him a way of life and a unique perspective that inspired many who knew him.

Moffat died in December 2018. And just over a year later, his daughter Jill Lawson published "Paradise Found: The Lithium Edition," a collection of Moffat’s writings and poetry.

KSJD’s Tom Yoder spoke with Lawson about the book and how it captures Moffat’s philosophies on nature, music and living a full life.

Tom Yoder is the Executive Director at KSJD and the Sunflower Theatre. He co-produces the Raven Narratives live storytelling project and podcast, produced the podcast "Fieldwork: Misadventures at the Edge of Science", and often hosts interviews on KSJD.
