Good morning!
I’m Lacy McKay.
Looking for something fun to do this weekend in the Four Corners? KSJD’s Community Calendar has you covered.
It all starts Friday with First Fridays in Cortez—a monthly celebration of local arts, shopping, and community. From 4 to 6 PM, you can join a free walking tour of public murals and galleries downtown, then head to the Cortez Cultural Center at 5 for a reception kicking off the Four Corners Studio Tour, which continues throughout the weekend.
Mancos is also getting into the spirit, with a hat-making workshop from 5 to 7 PM at the Mancos Commons Building—get creative in preparation for BurroFest later this month. You can catch The Badly Bent at Mancos Brewing Company at 5:30, or swing by The Turquoise Raven Art Gallery in Cortez at 6 for live Americana music and their Pride Month exhibit.
And don’t miss Movie in the Park—KSJD and the Cortez Public Library are showing The Wild Robot at Montezuma Park starting at 8 PM.
On Saturday, the Cortez Farmers Market opens bright and early at 8 AM in its new location at Kiva Charter School. Over in Dolores, it’s the 20th annual RiverFest, packed with live music, vendors, and a kids zone starting at 10 AM. And Canyons of the Ancients celebrates 25 years with a lecture at Painted Hand Pueblo at 1 PM, followed by a brew release party at WildEdge Brewing.
