Pope Francis Dies at 88, Colorado Catholics Reflect on His Humility

Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, has died at the age of 88 after a month-long hospitalization. Known for his humility, Pope Francis was remembered by Catholics around the world for his simple and down-to-earth approach to the papacy.

Matt Brubaker, a teacher at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs, reflected on the pontiff’s life, highlighting his vow of poverty and commitment to living simply. "Pope Francis was the people's pope," Brubaker said.

Following his death, cardinals will soon gather at the Vatican for a conclave to elect a new pope to lead the world’s estimated 1.4 billion Catholics.
