Fire map released by authorities on Monday, July 21st shows containment lines.

Fire crews are making progress on the Ute 63 Fire, burning near Morgan Canyon on the Ute Mountain Ute and Southern Ute reservations west of Redmesa, Colorado. As of Tuesday morning, 311 personnel remain assigned to the incident. Crews have focused on mop-up along the north and southwest edges while also repairing roads damaged during suppression efforts.

Cooler temperatures and slight humidity have helped firefighting operations in recent days, though fire weather is expected to worsen as humidity drops later this week. The fire, initially reported on July 13, has burned over 529 acres and is currently 34% contained.

No structures have been reported lost, and all evacuation warnings have been lifted. The public is encouraged to continue avoiding the area to allow crews to work safely. More updates are available via the Southern Ute Indian Tribe’s Facebook page.
