The Cortez Public Library is adding adult 3D printing classes and a teen trading card club as its fall programming gets started.
Library Director LeRoy Harris said the first adult 3D printing class will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22. Participants will learn the basics of designing and printing three-dimensional objects.
Harris said 3D printers can create everything from craft supplies to small garden pots to replacement parts for older equipment.
The new Trading Card Game Club will meet Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. The program is open to ages eight and older and will include games such as Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering.
Other September events include a teen game day on September 11, a screening of Coco for kids September 24th and weekly after-school programming on Wednesdays.
For Hispanic Heritage Month, adults can make sugar skull-shaped pinatas on September 11 and fabric molas September 25th. Materials will be provided for the pinata activity, while participants in the mola workshop are encouraged to bring fabric, needles, scissors and colored thread.
The library also offers weekly technology assistance, study rooms and test proctoring. It will be closed Monday, September 7th for Labor Day.
