Mancos Couple Reflects on Trip To Washington, D.C. in Support of Obamacare

As the political debate over repealing the Affordable Care Act heats up in Washington, Montezuma County might feel far removed at some points. But instead of remaining distant from the debate, Mancos residents Peter Robinson and Deb Gardner decided to take the discussion directly to the U.S. Capitol. They circulated a petition through Montezuma County requesting that lawmakers do not repeal the affordable care act without “first ensuring that citizens of the 3rd congressional district retain the protections, rights of access, and financial benefits of ‘Obamacare.’” This week, they presented the petition--in person--to Colorado's congressional delegation. After their return, they joined KSJD's Austin Cope to reflect on the process.
