A bill to support AMBER Alert coverage on the Navajo Nation and on other tribal lands has now become law.
The Farmington Daily-Times reports President Trump signed the legislation on April 13th. It had been introduced by Arizona Senator John McCain after the abduction and murder of eleven-year-old Ashlynn Mike near Shiprock in the spring of 2016.
The new law will allow tribes to apply for and receive federal funding to improve systems that notify the public of missing or abducted children.
