KSJD Announces New Morning Host

Daniel Rayzel will begin work at KSJD on June 7th.

Public radio listeners in the Four Corners will wake up to a new voice starting in mid-June.

Host and Reporter Daniel Rayzel will take the reins of KSJD’s local news department and begin hosting Morning Edition on June 18th.

Rayzel comes to the Four Corners from Michigan, where he recently graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Journalism and a minor in documentary production. He has produced radio pieces and published podcasts at Michigan Radio (an NPR member station), acted as the news director at Impact 89FM in Lansing, Michigan. He also has contributed to digital exhibits at the American Archive of Public Broadcasting in Boston.

Rayzel will arrive at KSJD on June 7th and train for a week with outgoing host, Austin Cope, who is leaving KSJD to move to northern India for two years. Cope’s final morning on the air will be June 15th.

KSJD’s Lead News Reporter, Gail Binkly, will also leave KSJD on June 15th. Both Binkly and Cope began work at KSJD in late 2015.
