Senator John Hickenlooper was in Southwest Colorado on Friday. His visit comes as the portion of the state and the larger Four Corners region are experiencing extreme drought conditions, with no end in sight. KSJD's Lucas Brady Woods sat down with Senator Hickenlooper to discuss what's being done, and what needs to be done, to address the situation at the federal level.
His itinerary included a stop at the manufacturing facility of Alpacka Rafts in Mancos, a meeting with Ute Mountain Ute tribal leaders in Towaoc, and a float down the Animas River with outdoor recreation and conservation activists.
