Jay Loschert from Dolores River Boating Advocates reported on April 29, 2026, that the Dolores River was at 313 CFS, the Animas River at 488 CFS, and the San Juan River at 710 CFS. To help preserve Lake Powell's power generation, federal officials ordered water releases from Flaming Gorge Reservoir into the Green River, which may affect boating on the Green and Colorado Rivers. Planned reduced flows from Glen Canyon Dam to save water in Lake Powell could also impact Grand Canyon river trips. Boaters should check local river gages for updates.
