If you’re looking for a way to get outside and give back, Colorado Public Lands Day is coming up with a cleanup event near Dolores on Saturday, May 16th.
Volunteers will gather from 10 to 2 along Bean Canyon Road off Forest Road 526 to help with litter pickup, weed removal, and restoring fire rings—work that supports healthier landscapes and reduces wildfire risk heading into the summer season.
Organizers say it’s also a chance to connect with the land and the community, with free lunch provided and vanpool options available from Dolores and Durango.
As we move into warmer weather and higher recreation use, events like this help keep local public lands safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.
