How wide should a sidewalk be? Do carports have to match the design of your house? Those were two of the questions the Cortez City Council considered at their meeting Sept. 8.

A Cortez nonprofit is reshaping disability services by centering lived experience, employment and community inclusion for people with disabilities in Southwest Colorado.

The tiny mountain town of Lake City has rallied to support a beloved local man. In January, he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. The town recently came together to raise support for his recovery and celebrate his return home.

Insurers were supposed to start covering recreational prosthetics on Jan. 1, but the state is still deciding how to implement the law.
