Road Closure Around Doe Canyon Fire Lifted

The road closure around the Doe Canyon Fire was lifted Tuesday.

Lorena Williams, acting executive assistant with the U.S. Forest Service, said the closure ended ahead of schedule due to calmer fire conditions.

The Doe Canyon Fire has grown to 2,390 acres, according to an update Wednesday from the San Juan National Forest. Firefighters have used the wildfire as a chance to burn excess fuel and improve forest health.
