Colorado author and former journalist Mark Stevens is back with No Lie Lasts Forever, a gripping new thriller set in Denver, set for release on June 1st. The novel centers on Harry Kugel—a retired serial killer—and Flynn Martin, a veteran television reporter recently suspended after a public on-air incident. When a new murder mimics Harry’s past crimes, he fears for his legacy and freedom. To stop a copycat and clear his name, he recruits Flynn, whose own reputation is on the line.

In an interview with KSJD’s LP McKay, Stevens shared how his background in journalism inspired Flynn’s character, and why he chose Denver as the setting.

Known for his Allison Coil mystery series and award-winning novel The Fireballer, Stevens returns here to the darker corners of the crime fiction world. He describes No Lie Lasts Forever as a “mutual redemption story,” where trust is hard-earned and danger never far behind.

📚 Meet the Author
Stevens will speak and sign books at a free author event hosted by Maria’s Bookshop on Tuesday, June 3 from 6 to 8 PM in Durango. Readers can expect insight into the writing process and a deeper look at the twisted dynamics behind No Lie Lasts Forever.

LP recently moved to the Four Corners from Austin, Texas, where they worked as a Case Manager for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in HOA property management where they were fortunate to learn many different styles of communication and creative thinking/problem solving. In their time away from work, they watch a ton of movies (spanning all decades, nationalities, and genres), and tries to listen to one really good album every day.
