Colorado’s 2026 Statewide Candidates: Voter Guide

All Coloradans receive a mail ballot for this election. If you need to change where your ballot is mailed, submit an address change at least 8 days before Election Day (Oct. 26).

Deadline for all ballots to be returned
All ballots must be received by the county clerk and recorder no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. Postmarks do not count; ballots must be in the hands of the county clerk by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

U.S. Senate

Democratic Party

John Hickenlooper has served as the mayor of Denver, the governor of Colorado, and is running for a second term as U.S. senator.

Republican Party

Mark Baisley has represented Colorado’s 4th Senate District, which includes Douglas County and Castle Rock, since 2023. Before joining the State Senate, he served House District 39, representing Teller County and parts of Douglas County, beginning in 2019. 

Libertarian Party

Blake Huber describes himself as a longtime political activist and election reform advocate who has served as state chair of the Libertarian Party and run for vice president, Colorado secretary of State, and president on the Approval Voting Party ticket. He has more than 30 years of management experience and advocates for approval voting, immigration reform, and the reduction of regulatory burdens on small businesses.

Unity Party

Adam Withrow is a Unity Party candidate for U.S. Senate with a background in ranching, health care, contracting, corrections, and education. His platform focuses on wages, health care, education, energy, election reform, and reducing U.S. military involvement overseas.

Approval Voting Party

  • Chris Baum

U.S. Navy Veteran Chris Baum has a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His career experience spans from administrator to a small business owner and a computer consultant. Baum has been affiliated with the Calvary Church of Broomfield.

Colorado Forward Party

U.S. Navy Veteran Bob Chew earned his bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1981. His career experience includes working as an engineering consultant.

Governor

Democratic Party

Phil Weiser has served as Colorado’s Attorney General for the past 8 years.

Republican Party

Victor Marx is a Marine Corps veteran and runs All Things Possible Ministries, a nonprofit in Colorado Springs.

Libertarian Party

Eric Mulder is a U.S. Army veteran with priorities including supporting rural communities, expanding nuclear energy, protecting taxpayer rights and addressing privacy concerns. (cpr.org)

Unity Party

Jeff Peckman, an entrepreneur and author from Denver, is campaigning on government reform and technology-focused solutions to address state challenges.

Approval Voting Party

Erik Underwood is a tech executive and CEO with priorities including affordable housing, child care, free college and trade school, universal health care, and support for LGBTQ+ people and unhoused Coloradans.

Independent 

Greg Lopez, a former Republican now running as an unaffiliated candidate, is a businessman, former Parker mayor and former Small Business Administration official. He briefly served in Congress in 2024 after winning a special election to complete former U.S. Rep. Ken Buck’s term. This is his third race for governor.

Secretary of State

Democratic Party

Amanda Gonzalez has served as the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder since 2023. She served as Executive Director of Colorado Common Cause from 2018 to 2021.

Republican Party

James Wiley previously led the Colorado Libertarian Party. He supports reducing the use of mail-in ballots, returning to predominantly in-person voting, and replacing vote-counting machines with hand counting.

Libertarian Party

Sean Vadney from Highlands Ranch is an entertainment industry professional who would like to reform business registration.

American Constitution Party

Amanda Campbell is making her sixth bid for the office. She says the secretary of state should play a more active role in upholding constitutional values and overseeing elections. (cpr.org)

Forward Party

Celeste Landry has been involved in Colorado election advocacy and reform. Her priorities include protecting voting rights, improving representation, allowing 17-year-olds who will be 18 by the general election to vote in primaries, and supporting proportional representation.

Attorney General

Democratic Party

Jenna Griswold has served as Secretary of State in Colorado since 2019. Her priorities include protecting elections and civil rights and access to reproductive health care.

Republican Party

Michael Allen is an American lawyer who serves as the current District Attorney for the 4th Judicial District.

Colorado State Treasurer

Democratic Party

Jeff Bridges is a state senator who chairs the Joint Budget Committee. He says he would focus on investing state funds in Colorado, including affordable housing, infrastructure, clean energy, and small businesses.

Republican Party

Kevin Grantham is a former state senator who served as Senate president from 2017 to 2018. He is also a former Joint Budget Committee member and current Fremont County commissioner, and says he would focus on maximizing taxpayer dollars and addressing Colorado’s affordability challenges.

Libertarian Party

  • Jodie Barr

Jodie Barr says her priorities include protecting taxpayer funds, increasing transparency in state investments, reforming PERA and returning unclaimed property to Coloradans. She lives in Littleton.

Approval Voting Party
