Tuesday is the final day to turn in ballots for the primary election in Colorado and Utah. In Montezuma County, there are no local contested races. However, Third District Congressman Scott Tipton, a Republican, is facing a challenger, Alex Beinstein. GOP voters also are choosing among five candidates vying for the chance to challenge incumbent U.S. Senator Michael Bennet. In Dolores County, commissioner Ernie Williams, a Democrat, has a primary challenger, John Trocheck. In San Juan County, Utah, the only local race is for two seats on the school board. Colorado’s voting is by mail ballot only; ballots may be hand-delivered to your county clerk’s office by 7 p.m. San Juan County likewise is conducting a mail vote, but offers election-day voting in four locations as well.
