BLM Considers Trail Linking Bluff with Sand Island Campground

Bureau of Land Management

The Bureau of Land Management’s Monticello Field Office is seeking public input on a proposed non-motorized trail that would connect the town of Bluff, Utah, to the Sand Island Campground 10 miles east.

The proposal submitted by the Bluff City Historic Preservation Association and Grand Canyon Trust is for a pedestrian, bicycle, and equestrian trail along the San Juan River. The trail would cross BLM,  private, and state trust lands. The BLM will use comments as it prepares an environmental assessment analyzing potential impacts of the proposed trail system. Comments will be accepted through December 2nd.
